Violet, from Valve's City Never Sleeps announcement

Announced · not playable yet

Violet

Deadlock's upcoming hero — ambitious, nimble, creative.

When does Violet come out?

Violet has been announced but Valve has not said which day yet. Heroes release on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2:00 pm Pacific in an order set by player vote; the next slot is Friday 16 October.

  • Hero 1 Friday 2 October Rat King
  • Hero 2 Tuesday 6 October Baba
  • Hero 3 Friday 9 October Solomon
  • Hero 4 Tuesday 13 October Deadman Danny
  • Hero 5 Friday 16 October vote decides
  • Hero 6 Tuesday 20 October vote decides

Times are 2:00 pm Pacific (5:00 pm Eastern, 10:00 pm UK). How the vote works is on the patch notes.

Violet abilities

Valve has not shown Violet's abilities yet. The three abilities and the ultimate go here the day Violet is revealed, with cooldowns and upgrade tiers from the game.

What Valve has said so far: ambitious, nimble, creative. A painter. Likely a zoning or terrain-painting kit; nothing confirmed yet.

How to counter Violet

The counter guide goes live with Violet: who beats Violet, which items shut Violet down, what to bait first and every matchup — the same page every hero on DenyPick gets, at this address.

Until then, the counter items page answers the problem rather than the hero — healing, burst, stuns, dive — and works for anyone.

Violet matchups

Each matchup page is already at its address and fills in on release day. For now each one has what is known about the other hero.

Violet build

The measured Violet build goes live at its own page once enough games are played: the items Violet players win with most, tier by tier, each with at least 1,500 games behind it. No invented "best builds" before then.

Violet win rate — is Violet OP?

No games yet. The measured win rate shows here within a day of release and refreshes every day — new heroes tend to open far from 50% and settle as players learn them.
